Fluid Flow Simulation

CapFD is is EKK’s fully functional FEM casting filling simulation code.  HPDC, low pressure, Gravity (incl. tilt pour) can all be simulated at the touch of a button.  It’s that easy with CapFD.   With CapFD, the simulation of piston motion in HPDC can be created with ease.  This ability alone makes it one of the most realistic and practical simulation tools in existence.

In addition to simply being able to observe the filling pattern of the casting, using CapFD, you have the ability to monitor fluid temperatures as well.  The likelihood of misruns can be predicted with a high degree of accuracy.   

You have the capacity to track the size and disposition of trapped gas in the cavity.  CapFD gives you the ability to quantitatively predict filling defects in castings.

To monitor the effectiveness of the runner, CapFD can color the flow from each gate, letting you, the analyst, judge for yourself the effectiveness of the runner design.
