We've recently begun actively marketing the new fluid flow solver CapFD (previously known as CAPFLOW) as part of our CAPCAST package for North American customers. CapFD is a robust and user-friendly FEM cavity filling simulation code designed specifically for metal casting processes. With the release of CapFD, we have also created a new GUI for specifying inputs to the solver:

When preparing a model for simulation, it is imperative that the mesh meet certain criteria to ensure a stable and successful analysis. The previous versions of the CAPCAST pre-processor GUI (MESHID) contained three different functions for testing the quality of the mesh: Jacobian Check, Isolated Elements, and Remove Small Elements. In an effort to encourage users to run all three mesh quality check routines, we have consolidated all three into the new function Element: Check: Mesh Quality:
