We've updated the csystem configuration that we are currently recommending for those who are thinking about purchasing a new workstation. The components shown below are considered to be the "top of the line" necessary for running CAPCAST most efficiently.

Dual AMD Opteron Workstation   Processors: Two AMD Opteron 285 (4x2.6 GHz, 64-bit) processors or better     - Intel Xeon Multi-core processors are supported   Memory: 8 GB Ram   Hard Drive: 500 GB SATA   Video Card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 512 MB PCI-E   OS: SUSE LINUX 10.1 / Red Hat Enterprise LINUX WS 4

If you cannot fit this configuration into your budget, it is easy to reduce the total workstation cost by selecting components at a few levels below "top of the line". Just call EKK if you have any questions.

Did You Know?

First, did you know that the material properties used in our software are easily customized? The user is free to adjust all material properties used by all of our analysis software. Not only that, but the software can also use temperature dependent thermophysical properties. This includes heat transfer coefficients between die components, thermal conductivity, density, and specific heat.
